A few weeks ago I wrote about The Idea Camp. The event took place this past weekend, and it was incredible. I met tons of amazing people from all over the US. I was inspired to think in fresh new ways, but more importantly to act on those ideas. As one speaker said, “Ideas are cheap”.
I wanted to share a few quotes/ideas that I took away from The Idea Camp. They are random and all over the place. I would like to give attribution where due, but some of these were just quick notes I wrote down when they struck me.
I saw this great and inspiring video (sent to me via twitter ironically) that spits out a few stats about social media.
Once again I am reminded of how powerful this tool is. And the best part, it’s FREE and available to us all. Not everyone can afford a billboard or magazine ad. But anyone can afford to get a Twitter account. Or should I say, you can’t afford not to…
If this kind of thing strikes your fancy, be sure to join me on December 7th as I give a talk for Salem Tribe entitled “Social Media Mixology”.

WordPress is the application I use to power most of the websites I build. In fact, unless a client requires me to use another system, I use WordPress exclusively. There are a few great applications out there, but in my opinion WordPress is the best. Here’s why:

I saw some buzz on Twitter in the last couple months about something called The Idea Camp. I looked into it, and was very excited to find out what it is. The Idea Camp is a place to bring ideas, listen to ideas, and start talking about ways to see them become reality. The conference is participant-driven (versus big-name speaker driven) and follows the unconference format.
